The Psychedelic Furs Cancel Upcoming North American Tours Due to "Serious Medical Issue"
The band said one member needs urgent surgery and will reschedule select dates, while refunds are available at the point of purchase.
On Friday, The Psychedelic Furs announced the cancellation of their spring and summer tour dates after one band member required urgent surgery. The British post-punk group, led by Richard Butler and Tim Butler, posted the decision on Instagram.
Planned as a 23-date nationwide outing, the tour was set to feature 'Cult of Personality' rockers Living Colour and visit Minneapolis, New York, Chicago, Boston, and Miami starting in August.
Fans seeking reimbursement for cancelled shows can obtain refunds at point of purchase. The band, which lost saxophonist Mars Williams at 68 years old, remains scheduled for the Darker Waves Festival in November in Huntington Beach, Calif.
Thanking fans for gracious support, the band stated, 'Please accept our deepest apologies for the inconvenience.' The group is attempting to reschedule select dates where possible.
Concert industry disruptions continue in recent weeks; Several tours have been cancelled or scaled back, including treks by Meghan Trainor, Zayn, and the Pussycat Dolls alongside The Furs.
