The former president of the Polish Episcopal Conference (KEP) was laid to rest in the vaults of the Archcathedral Basilica in Przemyśl.

The homily on the first day of the funeral was delivered by Archbishop Wacław Depo. Beginning, the Metropolitan of Częstochowa returned to the teachings of the late Archbishop Michalik and his perspective on the end of earthly life, which he said that the life of a believer is joy and hope, moving in the presence of God.
