As part of ongoing efforts to accelerate mining development in the region, the Ontario government has declared a new transmission line in northwestern Ontario as a priority project. By making this declaration and designating Hydro One for its construction and development, the government says it’s able to fast-track the necessary approvals.

Ontario, under Energy and Mines Minister Stephen Lecce, has authorised Hydro One Networks to oversee the development and construction of a 230kV double-circuit Red Lake Transmission Line in northwestern Ontario.
