From July 1, a maximum of 150 status holders will be accommodated on a field belonging to football club IJFC. The emergency shelter will remain open until the end of the year.
The construction of a temporary emergency shelter for asylum seekers at the Groenvliet sports park in IJsselstein was disrupted by a demonstration on Wednesday morning. According to the ANP, three people were arrested. They reportedly blocked access to the site. The protest took place at the IJFC football club. A reception facility for approximately 150 refugees is planned for the site. Initial work was delayed due to the protest.
