PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Several backpack giveaway events are being held across the state today. Beginning at 10 a.m., the Back to School Celebration of Rhode Island will distribute 15,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to students at 12 locations. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office joined community organizations Friday, Aug. 15, to distribute backpacks and school supplies to local children at County College of Morris in Randolph.
