After the Public Prosecutor's Office applied for life imprisonment—40 years without benefits—for nine accused of causing the mega-fire that took place between February 2 and 3, 2024 with thousands of hectares and homes in the Valparaíso region, causing the death of 138 people, PPD Representative Carolina Marzan expressed support for this petition noting that these are “highly dangerous criminals.”
