The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Roberto Luque, reported, through X (formerly Twitter), that the Attorney General's Office opened a prior investigation related to the recruitment processes of the Ecuador Electric Corporation (Celec) carried out during the electrical emergency.
The Attorney General’s Office has initiated a preliminary investigation into the emergency contracts granted by the state electricity company CELEC during the electricity crisis of 2024, based on findings of possible irregularities. Former Energy Minister and now Transport Minister Roberto Luque, who supervised CELEC during that period, publicly confirmed the investigation.
