Ravens Center Danny Pinter Injured During Joint Practice in Minnesota
Ravens center Danny Pinter injured during joint practice, potentially impacting competition for the starting role after Tyler Linderbaum's departure.
Baltimore Ravens center Danny Pinter was carted off the field with an apparent leg injury during a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings in Eagan, Minn., on Wednesday.
Pinter signed a 1-year, $2.75 million contract and has taken most first-team reps competing to replace former Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum, who joined the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency.
The injury occurred during an 11-on-11 period. Coach Jesse Minter said, "I don't have any updates yet," adding that Pinter must undergo tests to determine severity.
Baltimore will rely on depth options including veteran Ethan Pocic, second-year player Corey Bullock, and Jovaughn Gwyn to manage the center position during the remainder of training camp.
The Ravens will face the Vikings on Saturday Aug. 22 at Bank Stadium for their second preseason game, where the coaching staff will evaluate the center competition without Pinter.
