Production ends at Derbyshire's Denby Pottery after 217 years
Administrators said reduced demand and rising costs squeezed the business financially after a #SaveDenby campaign failed to find an investor.
Denby ended production at its Derbyshire site after 217 years, with final pieces sent to the kiln on Thursday, June 4.
Reduced demand and escalating employment costs squeezed the business financially, prompting the appointment of FRP Advisory as administrators earlier this year.
The SaveDenby campaign mobilized extensive public support across the country, but the brand ultimately confirmed it remained unable to secure an investor.
International subsidiaries in Korea and China are not in administration and will continue operating as normal for the brand's global customers.
Generations of dedicated, skilled people allowed Denby to survive, the brand stated, noting its products will remain in homes for years to come.
