Pro-Palestine protester dodges jail after climbing Big Ben tower

- The 17-hour incident cost taxpayers at least £92,000, including £67,000 from more than 2,500 cancelled Parliament tours and an estimated £25,000 in lost TfL bus fares during diversions.
- Day will attend up to 20 rehabilitation days and remain under electronic monitoring for four months as conditions of the suspended sentence imposed by Judge Baumgartner.
- Judge Baumgartner noted Day showed "little insight into your offending or any real remorse," though he acknowledged failing eyesight as significant personal mitigation for the defendant's actions.
