Alwar School Principal Suspended over Video of Him Bathing with Girl Students
The education department said the videos showed conduct that violated public service rules and ordered a departmental inquiry.
- On Saturday, the Directorate of Secondary Education, Bikaner suspended Principal Lal Chand Meena following viral videos showing him bathing with students in a dam. Villagers demanded action after the footage surfaced.
- After an Independence Day program on August 15, Meena took more than 200 students, including around 20 older girls, to a dam two kilometers away. The area had been restricted for four years due to drowning risks.
- Without life jackets, students were allegedly taken into 11 feet of water, despite some not knowing how to swim. The video shows Meena bathing with girl students from Classes 9 to 12 in the prohibited area.
- Chief Block Education Officer Shakuntala Yadav is investigating the incident, having collected statements from parents and students. Thanagazi police station in-charge Rajkumar Meena also began an inquiry after villagers reported the conduct.
- A departmental inquiry has been initiated against Meena under Rule 13 of the Rajasthan Civil Services Rules. During suspension, his headquarters will remain at the Directorate of Secondary Education in Bikaner.
