School results are shrinking, inequalities are widening: in a report published on Tuesday, 20 May, the Court of Auditors draws up a severe assessment of the situation of primary school. And questions the effectiveness of the reforms undertaken since 2017.

In a report released on Tuesday, the court points to an education system in difficulty whose inequalities persist despite rising spending.

In its first report on nursery and elementary schools, the financial court noted a "failure in education" and considered it necessary to review the organisation of the school system and the governance of schools.
