President Trump to Visit Chippewa County Friday, Tout Farmer Support
The president will highlight lower input costs, new trade markets and rural tax incentives as Wisconsin farmers face rising costs, officials said.
On Friday, June 5, President Donald Trump will visit Chippewa County, Wisconsin, to promote agricultural policies, marking his first trip to the state since his 2024 reelection.
The administration aims to boost rural areas through Rural Opportunity Zones and the Working Families Tax Cuts, which White House officials stated will provide tax savings for farmers.
Trump's visit carries weight in the 7th Congressional District, where candidates compete to replace U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, and the 3rd District, where Trump has endorsed incumbent Rep. Derrick Van Orden and candidate Michael Alfonso.
Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Devin Remiker criticized the visit, arguing the administration has failed to address rising costs and questioning whether local Republicans would support the President.
Polling from Marquette University Law School indicates more than half of Wisconsin voters disapprove of the President's handling of the office amid ongoing economic concerns.
