GYEONGJU, South Korea — Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Saturday wrapped up a series of diplomatic events that started with summit meetings related to an Association of Southeast Asian Nations gathering in Malaysia on Oct. 26.
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has been caught bowing her head in front of the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag) at the summit, drawing attention. Prime Minister Takaichi, who entered the Gyeongju Convention Center, the venue for the Korea-Japan summit, on the 30th, shook hands with President Lee Jae-myung, took a commemorative photo, and then walked to her seat, leaving a sign on the left side of the summit hall.
President Lee and Xi Jinping met for the first time… 200 additional boxes were sent to the Chinese side, and gifts were also ordered to all delegations. President Lee asked, “Wasn’t it inconvenient to come here?”… Xi said, “Gyeongju, with its long history, is very impressive.” 22 countries including Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi, US Secretary of State Besant, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister attended.
