The Constitution does not say only that the president rules. It says something much more demanding: it represents the nation. It does not represent its party, even those who voted for it. It represents a country deeply divided, distrustful and fatigued by years of sterile confrontations. That representation is not a photograph of the day of election; it is a task that must be built every day.
