Pregnant Phoenix teen killed by boyfriend in San Diego, police say
Doctors saved the baby by emergency cesarean section, but the mother died and police arrested her boyfriend on suspicion of murder.
On Saturday, May 30, 2026, 21-year-old Trevon Williams allegedly shot his pregnant 17-year-old girlfriend outside a Bay Park, San Diego, vacation rental. The victim, approximately 32 weeks pregnant, died at the hospital after an emergency C-section.
Investigators believe Williams traveled from Arizona to San Diego separately before meeting the victim outside the rental property. Officers apprehended him around 3 a.m. "hiding" near 4900 September St., recovering a semi-automatic handgun.
While the teenager died from the gunshot wound, medical personnel successfully delivered her baby via emergency C-section. The newborn remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
Experts note that pregnancy and youth can escalate relationship conflict risks. Tanner Swanson, Marketing Director for A New Leaf, said "when a gun is introduced into the situation, an abusive situation can very quickly turn deadly."
Facing multiple charges including murder and attempted murder, Williams is scheduled for a court appearance next week. The San Diego Police Department asks anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293.
