On Monday, a firefighter died in the village of Maciuçay, Klaipeda District, while extinguishing a fire at a woodworking plant, the Fire Safety and Rescue Department (PAGD) reported.

While extinguishing a fire at the wood processing company Dekogama in the Klaipėda district on Monday, firefighters lost their colleague and later found the deceased while localizing the fire, said Renatas Požėla, director of the Fire Protection and Rescue Department (PAGD). According to him, it is not yet clear how the firefighter and rescuer died.
