Powerball jackpot climbs to estimated $1.25 billion
No winning ticket in Monday's drawing pushed the rollover jackpot to $1.25 billion, the second-largest Powerball prize of 2025, with a 4x Power Play multiplier in effect.
- Powerball reported the advertised jackpot has climbed to $1.25 billion ahead of Wednesday's draw at 10:59 p.m. ET, Dec. 17.
- After Monday's draw failed to produce a top winner, the jackpot rolled as no ticket matched all six numbers: 23, 35, 59, 63, 68 and red Powerball 2 with Power Play multiplier 4.
- Among other outcomes from the draw, a winner choosing the cash option would receive an estimated $572.1 million before taxes, while the annuity pays one immediate payment plus 29 annual payments increasing by 5.
- Ranked against 2025 prizes, Matt Strawn noted `Powerball has only seen back-to-back billion-dollar jackpots twice, and this one has arrived just in time for the holidays`, and the jackpot would be the second-largest this year if drawn Wednesday.
