Destatis calculates the poverty rate in Germany differently than before. Scientists accuse the statistical authority of taking an interest-led approach.
On Monday, the President of the Federal Statistical Office Ruth Brand wrote a letter to a number of poverty researchers in which they criticize a manipulation in the identification of the risk of poverty.
