European Environment Agency released data from the bathing season of 2025: 82% of the 682 Portuguese beaches monitored have excellent quality, three more than in 2024.
Organia classified 634 Portuguese bathing waters as "good" or "excellent". Number of unclassified beaches was the only one that decreased. Almost 90% of the coastal waters of the European Union were classified as excellent.
