Minister of Finance explained this Thursday the government's economic options for the year 2027.
In presenting the document, the Minister of Finance assured that the government is 200 million euros away from fulfilling the tax reduction promise made in 2024. Miranda Sarmento also pointed to an economic growth of 2.1% in 2027 and to a public debt below 85%.
Minister for Finance argues that debt reduction should continue to be a permanent concern of the Government. Portugal is four percentage points ahead of the trajectory agreed with Brussels and the Executive foresees a budget surplus of 0.1% next year.
"Public debt is the most important aspect in our public accounts," the Minister of Finance.
The Minister of Finance, Miranda Sarmento, said that the reduction of public debt should be the permanent focus of the government, during the presentation of the State Budget for 2027 (OE2027).
