Honey Legal and Portcullis Announce Formal Partnership
The firms said the deal will give Portcullis clients clearer succession planning and more than double Honey Legal’s probate team within 12 months.
Honey Legal and Portcullis formalized a long-term strategic partnership following a year-long trial designed to preserve trusted client relationships while strengthening continuity, communication and succession planning.
Managing Director and Founder Trevor Worth initiated the arrangement after nearly 40 years building Portcullis to create a proper long-term plan for families who have trusted the firm over the years.
During the trial, Portcullis, based in Plymouth, remained the primary contact for families while introducing Honey Legal's specialist probate team; files transferred quickly and communication remained clear and consistent.
Honey Legal, with offices in Shropshire and Leicester, will provide long-term probate support for Portcullis clients, while CEO Al Gardiner said the partnership is "protecting clients for the long term."
Worth is not retiring soon, but the partnership establishes a clear succession framework combining local relationships with national probate capability, addressing a common challenge in private client work.
