Porsche Revives the Slant Nose with the Flachbau RS, a Delectable One-of-One GT2 RS
Porsche’s Sonderwunsch team spent nearly three years turning a customer’s 2018 911 GT2 RS into a road-legal homage to the 935.
- Porsche's Sonderwunsch division unveiled the Flachbau RS, a one-off commission based on a 2018 911 GT2 RS that pays homage to the iconic 935 race car.
- Developed over three years with Manthey and Porsche Motorsport, the project reinterprets the 935/78 'Moby Dick' race car's signature slanted nose while ensuring road legality.
- The twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine produces 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, while engineering efforts shed 31.6kg of weight compared to the original.
- Designer Grant Larson shaped the conversion, which features a manually adjustable rear wing sitting approximately five centimetres higher than the GT2 RS, providing increased downforce.
- While Porsche declined to disclose the exact price, officials confirmed the figure reaches seven figures for this unique creation, which serves as a final project for Larson after 36 years.
