- Diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2025, Brownson performed one last gig in Bristol this year as a thank you to fans. He underwent surgery while continuing to perform when his health allowed.
- Expressing devastation on Facebook, the band wrote, 'nothing will ever be the same again without our band mate and friend.' Brother Steve Brownson added that Derry had a 'beautiful and gifted soul' lighting space with love.
- EMF announced a 35th anniversary tour this fall celebrating 'Schubert Dip,' which the band released in June. The band has released five albums, with their final record, 'The Beauty and the Chaos,' arriving in 2024.
