Popular mac and cheese recalled for undeclared allergens

Eight allergic reactions linked to Gooder Foods' recalled plant-based mac and cheese due to undeclared milk and cashew allergens, posing serious health risks.

  • On September 16, 2025, Gooder Foods, Inc. issued a recall for five batches of its Vegan Is Believin' Plant-Based White Cheddar Spirals due to undeclared milk allergens, as well as for three batches of its Here Comes Truffle Creamy Flavored Cheddar and Shells because of undisclosed cashew allergens.
  • The recall was initiated after consumer reports and FDA findings linked allergic reactions to items manufactured during the period from April 7 to April 15, 2025.
  • The affected products were made available across the country from April 29 to August 5, 2025, through various wholesale channels, operators, and online platforms, and were sold at retailers including Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods.
  • As of September 15, eight allergic reactions were reported—six from Here Comes Truffle and two from Vegan Is Believin'—and consumers are urged to return products for a full refund.
  • Gooder Foods recommends that individuals with milk or cashew allergies avoid consuming their products and offers customer support on weekdays between 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening Eastern Time at 1-888-610-2341.
