Poll: Inflation still tops voters' concerns before midterms
Inflation remains the top concern for American voters ahead of the midterm elections, leading the list for the third consecutive poll.
A Center Square Voters' Voice Poll found that 20% of registered voters named inflation as the single most important issue, and 41% included it in their top three concerns.
Since March, the percentage of voters naming inflation as their top concern rose from 16% to 20% and stayed at 20% through August.
Wendy Edelberg of the Brookings Institution said voter frustration goes beyond monthly inflation rates, noting that costly items become normalized over time.
