Poll: Fourth of July second only to Christmas as America's top holiday

A majority of Americans, 52%, consider Independence Day as one of the top holidays, second only to Christmas, which has 58% support, according to polling by Napolitan News Service.
Independence Day celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776.
The poll, conducted by Scott Rasmussen, shows that 84% of those surveyed are proud to be American, while 55% believe America's best days are still to come.
