- On Saturday , police were alerted to a person near Stamford Bridge as around 40,000 spectators left after the Chelsea v Fulham Premier League match, following multiple 999 calls about a person in military-style tactical gear on Fulham Broadway, London.
- Police said the 16-year-old teenager was heading to a comic convention in Umbrella Corporation cosplay, and the imitation firearms had been sprayed black to appear realistic.
- Bodycam footage shows officers seizing a replica handgun from the holster and a replica rifle from the backpack of the 16-year-old, whom unarmed officers tackled and detained on Saturday.
- The 16-year-old was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of possessing imitation firearms, admitted the offence, and was referred to the Youth Offending Team for an out-of-court disposal.
- Commander Adam Slonecki praised unarmed officers' bravery and warned that cosplay with realistic weapons should occur in organised settings, not crowded public spaces.
