Deer Crashes Through Glass Window at New Hampshire Elementary School
School staff contained the animal in a classroom, and officials said it took about an hour to remove and release it unharmed.
On Wednesday, a deer crashed through a glass window at Mount Lebanon Elementary School in New Hampshire, prompting staff to contain the animal in a classroom.
The animal entered the facility shortly after 10 a.m., barreling down the hallway before staff successfully contained it from reaching other areas of the building.
Lebanon Police Department Chief Philip Roberts described the incident as highly unusual, saying, "It's definitely not like a normal call you get on a routine basis."
Officers assisted New Hampshire Fish and Game in removing the visitor, which required carrying the deer outside because "the hooves on the tile don't exactly work," Roberts said.
The hour-long operation concluded safely with no injuries reported inside the school as officials released the deer back into the wild.
