Police looking for additional people who fired guns in Virginia university shooting that wounded 5
Investigators are trying to determine whether additional gunmen were aggressors or acted in self-defense after five people were wounded.
- On Sunday, police announced they are seeking additional individuals who fired weapons during Saturday's shooting near the Quad Annexes at Virginia State University in Ettrick, Virginia, which left five people wounded.
- Authorities arrested 19-year-old Camron Harris of Henrico in a dormitory closet more than 14 hours after the early Saturday shooting and are holding him without bond in the Chesterfield County jail.
- The victims ranged in age from 17 to 23, with only one of the five being a student at the university, which serves about 5,700 students; Harris is not a student, police said.
- Harris is due in state court today to face four counts of malicious wounding and four counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to police records.
- Investigators are working to determine if other shooters acted in self-defense or were aggressors. "We don't have specific locations that we are looking yet," Lt. James Lamb of the Major Crimes Unit told The Associated Press.
