Police investigating homicide in Oshawa
Police say a person of interest is cooperating as investigators seek video from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. after the fatal fight.
On Saturday night, a 23-year-old man died in Oshawa, marking Durham Region's third homicide this year, Durham Regional Police confirmed.
A physical altercation between two groups of men outside a Tim Hortons near Simcoe Street North and Winchester Road East preceded the fatal attack, police reported.
Officers located the victim "suffering from traumatic injuries" at the scene, where he was pronounced dead, as air and K9 units searched for fleeing suspects.
Authorities believe the incident was isolated with no ongoing public threat, and a person of interest is cooperating with the active homicide unit investigation.
Investigators are urging anyone with information or video from the area between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
