Police investigate after woman’s body found in vehicle in Kelowna, B.C.
Kelowna RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is investigating after a man known to the woman was taken into custody and later released with conditions.
- On Tuesday, July 7, Kelowna RCMP discovered a woman's body inside a vehicle in Kelowna. Authorities confirmed the circumstances surrounding the incident are considered suspicious.
- Police responded to reports of suspicious circumstances in the 800-block of Baillie Avenue on Tuesday. Officers located the woman deceased in the back of a vehicle at the scene.
- A Castanet reader who lives across the street from the scene reported that police were called around 6 p.m. The witness observed the woman in the back of a truck when officers arrived.
- Following the discovery, authorities took a man known to the victim into custody at the scene. Police have since released him but imposed several reporting conditions.
- The Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit has assumed control of the investigation. They are working to determine the events leading up to the death at Baillie Avenue.
