Amsterdam disbands pro-Palestine protest with signs declaring support for Hamas
Mayor Femke Halsema of Amsterdam disbanded a pro-Palestine demonstration on Dam Square on Thursday, in which participants expressed support for Hamas. The demonstration was on the third anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel. The mayor broke up the demonstration after participants refused to follow the set route for their march, NOS reports.
The day Hamas carried out a terrorist attack in Israel was seized upon in Amsterdam by several hundred pro-Palestinian demonstrators to express their support for Hamas. On Dam Square, right in front of the National Monument, a banner was displayed with the text 'We support Hamas'. The demonstration was eventually disbanded by order of Mayor Femke Halsema.
