Police in Idaho search for suspect who stole ambulance, drove into building that houses DHS offices
Suspect fled after stealing ambulance, pouring accelerant, and crashing into DHS-leased office; police say no fire started and no injuries reported in ongoing investigation.
- Thursday morning, Meridian Police Department said a suspect stole a St. Luke's ambulance from St. Luke's West and drove it into the Portico North building housing DHS offices.

- Meridian Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea said the suspect poured gasoline or other accelerant around the ambulance but could not ignite it, and television images showed shattered glass at the Portico North entrance with no one inside the building or injuries reported.
- Meridian Police Department confirmed Thursday afternoon the suspect remains at large as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security and Idaho State Police assist, and roads began reopening before 6 a.m. with St. Luke's Meridian Medical Center reporting uninterrupted patient services.
