Police, Maine Gambling Control Unit Raid Lisbon Business
Police say the machine accepts cash and dispenses collectible cards, and officials previously seized it in a related investigation.
On Monday, the Gardiner Police Department and Maine Gambling Control Unit executed a search warrant at New England Vending on Route 196 in Lisbon as part of an ongoing investigation.
Authorities launched the search following a January report of a potentially illegally operated gambling machine in Gardiner, which accepts cash and dispenses collectable cards with monetary value.
CBS13 footage captured officers loading slot machines onto a U-Haul truck, while crews moved pallets including cases of Red Bull and boxes marked "TGI Fridays, snacks."
Gardiner Police Chief Todd Pilsbury confirmed the Lisbon Police Department assisted with the operation and stated there is no threat to the public, though no criminal charges have been filed.
Officials have not released further details regarding how the Lisbon facility connects to the Gardiner case, and requests for additional information from the Maine Gambling Control Office remain pending.
