Heavily armed police rescue man, 33, from hostage situation in Tiel home; Five arrested
The police’s Special Intervention Service (DSI) ended a hostage situation in a home in Tiel on Sunday afternoon, rescuing a 33-year-old man from Meteren. Five suspects were arrested, the police said on Monday, Omroep Gelderland reports.
The police arrested five people on Sunday afternoon for allegedly holding a 33-year-old man from Meteren in Gelderland hostage in a home on Hertog Arnoldstraat in Tiel. The Special Intervention Unit raided the home around 5:30 PM, where they found the hostage and four of the five suspects. Later, the police arrested the fifth suspect in a home on Diderik Vijghstraat, a few hundred meters away.
