Kaunas police are asking people who saw or recorded an incident that occurred during a rally in the Kaunas district in July, when a man was killed and another person was injured, to come forward.
Officers of the Serious Crimes Investigation Board of the Criminal Police of Kaunas County Police are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the careless deprivation of life following a tragic incident during a ring race.
On July 4, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m. in the village of Gaižėnėliai, Kaunas district, during a rally, a rally participant driving a Cupra lost control of the vehicle, slid off the race track, and crashed into a metal gate, which overturned and fatally injured the man standing behind it. Another man standing nearby was also injured.
