Police appeal for 'heroic' witness who stepped in to help three women in Camden
A passerby protected three women from an intoxicated man trying to rob and sexually assault them on Camden High Street, police say his account could aid the investigation.
- On Wednesday, January 14 officers were called at around 8am after a man attempted to rob and sexually assault three women on Camden High Street, with police discovering an unidentified passerby's intervention through CCTV footage.
- A passerby repeatedly placed himself between the three women and the intoxicated man, staying until he was certain they were safe, Sergeant Max Pennington, Metropolitan Police, said.
- Police describe the witness as white with a short brown beard and average build, wearing a light cream jacket, green rucksack, dark trousers, brown shoes, and a red beanie with a yellow logo.
- Officers are appealing for the unidentified witness to come forward and for anyone in or near Camden High Street at the time to call 101 with reference 01/7057429/26.
- Police praised the intervention, saying Sergeant Max Pennington, Metropolitan Police, called the witness's actions `heroic` and said `He should be proud of his actions.
