On Monday, the Polish Ministry of Defence announced that its fighters and helicopters would be able to shoot down foreign aircraft monitored in the country ' s airspace, in accordance with defensive measures normally taken in time of war.
An operating pilot or commander may decide to take down an unidentified aeroplane on the basis of a combination of information, such as radar data, the direction from which it entered Polish airspace, its speed and trajectory, and whether it responds to friend or enemy signals
Poland announced on Monday the relaxation of the rules of employment of its air forces when an intruder is detected by its radars, a measure usually reserved for the state of war, reports France Presse, says Agerpres. In the coming days, Poland will change the procedure for the use of weapons against facilities approaching its territory on the Russian side.
