Poland Says It Intercepted Two Russian SU-30 Jets over the Baltic Sea
Allied air forces were put on alert as Russia fired 47 missiles and 619 drones in the overnight assault on Ukraine, officials said.
- On Saturday, two Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoons operating from Romania shot down Russian drones over Ukrainian territory near Reni for the first time during NATO's Enhanced Air Policing mission.
- Russian forces resumed drone attacks against civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine near the river border with Romania in Tulcea County early Saturday, targeting ports along the River Danube.
- Falling drone debris struck the southeastern city of Galati, damaging an electricity pole and a household annex. The Ministry of National Defence confirmed "no casualties were reported."
- Romania's Ministry of National Defence "strongly condemns the irresponsible actions of the Russian Federation," stating such incidents represent a new challenge to regional security and NATO's collective security.
