- On Thursday, UAE Team Emirates rider Tadej Pogacar claimed victory in Stage 6 of the Vuelta a Espana in Castellon de la Plana, securing his third stage win of the race.
- The decisive action unfolded on the final climb of Puerto El Bartolo, where Pogacar attacked on gravel and distanced a 15-rider breakaway that had established a two-and-a-half minute gap.
- Recovering from an off-road excursion on the final descent, Pogacar outsprinted Movistar's Enric Mas, who had briefly overtaken him near the finish line.
- Following his win, Pogacar now leads Movistar's Mas by 3min 34sec and compatriot Primoz Roglic by 4min 21sec in the overall general classification.
