Incentive for First-Time Employees, Employers
INDIA, JUL 25 – The scheme offers up to Rs 15,000 to first-time EPFO employees and incentives to employers, aiming to create over 3.5 crore new jobs in two years, officials said.
- The Employment Linked Incentive Scheme will be renamed PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana and will start on August 1, 2025, aiming to create over 3.5 crore jobs through an investment of Rs 99,446 crore.
- The scheme will offer incentives to first-time employees earning up to Rs 1 lakh, providing two installments of Rs 15,000, with conditions on service duration and financial literacy completion.
- Employers creating new jobs will also receive incentives for two years, with manufacturing jobs eligible for an extra two years.
- Principal Regional Commissioners from EPFO stated that this initiative is part of India's strategy for employment-led development and aims to boost economic growth by creating jobs.
