PM Modi Inaugurates Viveka Smaraka in Mysuru
The centre will serve more than 10,000 students and youth with classrooms, a 4D theatre, and programmes on leadership and character development.
- On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre Viveka Smaraka in Mysuru, a facility dedicated to Swami Vivekananda's life, message, and ideals of value-based education and leadership training.
- Located at the historic Niranjana Mutt, where Vivekananda stayed during his 1892 visit, the memorial was developed by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama after the State government handed over the property following recommendations from Vivekananda's 150th birth anniversary celebrations.
- Alumni of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala contributed nearly 30 crore towards construction, which began in July 2022 under Swami Muktidananda's leadership. The site features a 700-seat amphitheatre, 4D experience theatre, exhibition hall, and meditation facilities.
- Modi lauded India's youth for their capabilities in manufacturing, innovation, and the digital economy, noting 10,000 labs have been started to develop scientific temper. The centre is expected to benefit more than 10,000 students from nearby institutions.
- The National Education Policy aims to prepare Indian youth for 21st-century challenges through educational modernisation. India is advancing rapidly in Artificial Intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, and space technology, with youth driving these innovations as the nation builds new capabilities.
