ZAGREB — Prime Minister Andrej Plenković congratulated the International Day of Older Persons on Thursday at a government session and pointed out that the average pension in ten years, since 2016, has increased by almost 114 percent, reaching 780 [...] Plenković's announcement: “The average pension will be between 750 and 800 euros in twenty months” appeared for the first time on Novi list.
Plenković emphasizes the increase in pensions and measures for the elderly. The Ombudsman calls for combating poverty, more affordable homes, and faster payment of the first pension.
He also mentioned the construction of 20 new centres for the elderly throughout Croatia, and assessed the project as very successful.
"We promised in the program that the overall average pension by 2028, so in about twenty months, will be between 750 and 800 euros. It is already with a supplement," said Plenković at a government session.
