Abubakar Abdullahi: Nigerian Imam Honoured for Saving Christian Lives Dies Aged 90
Imam Abdullahi sheltered 262 Christians during 2018 conflicts and received the 2019 International Religious Freedom Award for his bravery, dying from heart complications at age 90.

- His courage won international recognition, including the International Religious Freedom Award presented by the U.S. Department of State in 2019.
- In Nghar village, his burial will follow Jumma'at prayers on Friday, and he is survived by 19 children, including 12 sons and seven daughters.
- He routinely went for medical check-ups and returned, according to family members who said Abubakar had been hospitalised ten days before his death.
