The Pilnacek inquiry committee continued its work on Thursday. Lower Austrian police chief Franz Popp was summoned as a witness in the morning. He first described how he learned of Pilnacek's death and the hours that followed. He defended his officers and also stated that he had advocated for training in preparation for the inquiry. At 2:30 p.m., the Director General for Public Security, Franz Ruf, is scheduled to testify.
On Thursday, police celebrities will arrive in Parliament. In the afternoon, Franz Ruf, Director General for Public Security, will appear.
