Oasis, Iron Maiden and Sade Among Record Number of Brits Entering Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Eight performers, including Phil Collins and Oasis, join 10 other artists and industry figures honored for their significant contributions to music.
- On Monday, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame revealed its 2026 class during "American Idol," inducting eight performers: Phil Collins, Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Luther Vandross, Sade, and Joy Division/New Order.
- More than 1,200 musicians, executives, historians and journalists voted to select the 18 total inductees, expanding the class beyond the eight main performers to include additional honorees across multiple award categories.
- Honoring his show's role in launching the British Invasion, the late television host Ed Sullivan will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award, while Queen Latifah, Rick Rubin, and Linda Creed also receive recognition.
- Scheduled for Saturday, November 14, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the ceremony will be pre-taped for broadcast on ABC and Disney+ in December.
- Although the Hall expanded its ranks this year, notable nominees like Mariah Carey and New Edition did not secure induction; the 2027 ceremony will return to Cleveland.
