- On Thursday, MNA Sher Afzal Khan Marwat filed a petition in the Federal Constitutional Court seeking the restoration of Ali Amin Gandapur as chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and nullification of Sohail Afridi's appointment.
- Marwat argued that Gandapur's resignation was obtained "under pressure" and "on the dictation of a convicted disqualified individual," asserting the move lacks legal status.
- Citing "unconstitutional actions," the applicant urged the court to cancel all official decisions made since the resignation, arguing that de-notifying Gandapur was "unlawful and in collision with the constitution."
- Reacting to the development, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan condemned the petition as a "conspiracy" against the PTI, stating Afridi's appointment had the PTI founder's consent and cannot be reversed.
- Distancing himself from the legal challenge, Gandapur stated he has "neither any connection with any case" nor involvement, maintaining he fulfilled his duty by implementing the instructions to resign.
