A decision on targeted support against high diesel prices could be made on Wednesday, Péter Magyar announced in parliament on Monday. According to the prime minister, the aid would be aimed at diesel vehicles and farmers, instead of restoring the protected price that applies to everyone.
They will provide targeted assistance to diesel car owners below a certain performance level, as well as to the agricultural sector. The Fidesz solution, i.e. the protected price, will not be implemented, because it will destroy the budget, cause a deficit and also help the rich, he said.
