In agreement with the CFDT, the majority union of the company, the company suspended the implementation of the plan to safeguard employment which provided for the abolition of 166 posts at the headquarters of Villeneuve-sur-Lot. Negotiations will resume in early September with the arrival of the new director.
This decision, taken "by common accord" with the CFDT, follows the arrival of a new leader on 1 September.
This decision is intended to enable the new president of the board of directors of the company to "analyse the situation" when he took office in September. The other social plan, threatening 116 posts in 11 stores, will come to an end.
The company, which had been financially restructured in January, announced in April that it would want to reduce its workforce by 5%, out of a total of 6000 people in France.
This decision should allow the new president of the management board of the brand to "analyse the situation" before taking up his post in September. However, the closures of eleven stores are maintained.


"This joint decision will allow Mr. Christophe Mistou, when taking office as Chairman of the Executive Board on 1 September, to analyse the situation and build a target organisation faithful to his vision", wrote in a Gifi communiqué, which states that the other procedure
